Review
"Spring for Strawberry Shortcake" is the second DVD in FOX's new "Strawberry Shortcake" series. This entry is a superior to the introductory episode. Here, Spring hasn't arrived in Strawberryland. Strawberry Shortcake and Ginger Snap take a trip to find Spring. Spring happens to be a little girl who thinks she isn't wanted. She doesn't want to chase away winter. Strawberry does here best to convince Spring that she is wanted and needed. Together, Strawberry, Ginger and Spring save the day.

The Disc
Berry good movie. Good picture. OK sound. No real extras, but the price reflects the DVD's vanilla status.

Picture Quality: 8/10
This disk has the same quality of the first DVD. Nice, bright animation. No bleeding, artifacts or pixilation. No delineation problems either as the entire movie is bright. The picture is soft around the edges at times.

Sound Quality: 7/10
Like the first "Strawberry Shortcake" DVD, the sound on this track is a bit flat and tinny in the higher ranges. The songs aren't as lame as those on the first disk. My five-year-old likes this disk more than "Meet Strawberry Shortcake."

Menu: 8/10
The menu is bright, colorful and easy to navigate. No Easter Eggs found.

Extra Features: 4/10
There is a one-minute music video in which Ginger Snap sings about how much she loves to snap her fingers. The DVD also contains five sneak peeks.

The Final Word:
A little better than the first DVD. The target audience of preschool girls will love this.
