Review
The entire Rugrats cast gets a free trip to Paris to visit "Reptarland." It seems that Mr. Pickles is the engineer who created the over-sized dinosaur from the popular cartoon "Reptar" which terrorizes tourists at the Paris theme park created to cash in on the cartoon. (For none Rugrat fans, Reptar is a cartoon that the kids watch. Think "Itchy and Scratchy" from the Simpsons.) Mr. Pickles has to repair the robotic giant and everyone gets to tag along.

While there, Chuckie Finster's widowed dad meets an evil French wench who needs to marry in order to advance in the company. Mr. Finster is so backward and nerdy that it is hard to believe he ever fathered Chuckie. Chuckie wants a new mom, and believes that the evil French wench is someone else. Will Mr. Finster make a big mistake, or will the Rugrat kids save the day? What do you think?

Even is you don't watch Rugrats with you kids, or by yourself, you should enjoy the subversive humor of this movie. There are many in-jokes for movie fans. The animation is what you would expect if you are familiar with the show. This DVD is a keeper.

The Disc
Great movie. Great extras. A well produced product for mass consumerism. Buy! Buy! Buy! Seriously. It is a good product. There is no exploding gas tank anywhere on this DVD!

Picture Quality: 10/10
Its a cartoon for heaven's sake. How are you going to screw up the picture!

Sound Quality: 10/10
I would write a long paragraph embellishing the subtleties and nuances of the ambient sound but I'm not drunk enough right now. The sound quality is excellent. Crank up the Baha Men video and let your kids enjoy.

Menu: 10/10
Fun. Easy to navigate.

Extra Features: 10/10
The alternate endings are very funny. I like to see French people get their comeuppance. Before any politically correct people write to complain, let me say that I didn't know that "rude people" were a protected minority!

The sound effects showcase is also quite good. Lots of good info for animation fans. The same goes for the behind the scenes featurette.

The Final Word:
I like the movie. I like the DVD. Buy! Buy! Buy!
