Review
Oscar winner for Best Foreign Film 2001. Danis Tanovic's film "No Man's Land" sets out in the simplest terms, the absurdity of war. This is a wonderful movie going experience. I'd recommend that you watch this as part of a double feature with Emir Kusturica's "Underground." To read Sean Keeley's archived review of "No Man's Land" click here. The Disc
Great movie, sound and picture. No real extras. A bit high priced for a vanilla DVD, but this is a great movie.

Picture Quality: 10/10
It is ironic that the lush landscapes show in this film are so beautiful. Ironic because of the horror which soaks that same country with blood. Maybe the scenery is so beautiful as a way of accenting the insanity of waging war on such a blessed land. Excellent photography, beautifully transferred to disk. No pixilation or artifacts.

Sound Quality: 10/10
All the sounds of war fly around the room in this excellent 5.1 surround sound track. No distortion. Crisp and clear. Death never sounded so good.

Menu: 7/10
Good use of images from the movie. Easy to navigate.

Extra Features: 2/10
Just the trailer and a liner statement from the director. Maybe MGM will come out with a special edition later if this one sells.

The Final Word:
This is worth the price of admission for the movie alone. A great addition to anyone's DVD collection.
