Review
Jerry Maguire remains as one of the best character-driven films ever made. Peak performances by Mr. Tom Cruise... in a career changing role as a cocky sports agent who rediscovers life.

The script is brilliantly written and directed by one of our generations most talented people... Cameron Crowe.

The Disc
This disc is PACKED with the stuff we all crave for in a great DVD! Deleted scenes, great commentary, etc.

Picture Quality: 8/10
Probably the only "lacking" thing in this release. It's not terrible, but the sharpness and color seperation don't do the cinematography the justice it deserves. The film was brilliantly lit, and SOME of that is taken down a bit. Perhaps it was my disc, but there was some distortion by the black bars. Compared to most though, it's still great.

Sound Quality: 10/10
The sound is excellent... due to Crowe's EXTENSIVE and BROAD selection of music.

Menu: 10/10
The menu consists of many pictures and images from the film... pasted together. The music from the film is incorporated as well.
Easter Eggs:
5 min. of candid backstage footage
How to find it:
- First insert the second disc
- Select "Special Features" from the main menu
- Select "Director and Cast Commentary"
- Now highlight the "Mission Statement" menu entry
- Then press the "Right" arrow key on your remote
This will highlight a small rectangle in the upper left corner
- Press "Enter" (Don't be surprised if nothing happens, you have just unlocked the "Easter Egg")
- Now highlight the "Mission Statement" menu entry once again
- And press the "Up" and "Right" arrow key at the same time (This will highlight the word "Jerry Maguire" in the computer keyboard on the screen)
- Press "Enter" to watch the candid backstage footage.

Extra Features: 10/10
While the disc is stacked with extras... the defining moment will come when you watch the video commentary on the second disc. Renee, Cuba, Tom, and Cameron are filmed watching the movie together and sharing their feelings. It is a thrill to see... and we learn a lot. Although the group tends to say "Bring it" and "On fire" a bit too much... but hey, they're excited about the film.

The Final Word:
Truly a remarkable DVD to have. Faor those who haven't seen the film, and aren't Tom Cruise fans... this WILL change your mind.
