Review
"The Great Escape" meets "Wallace and Gromet." This claymation film is a joy for all ages. Mr. And
Mrs. Tweedy own a chicken farm. And on that farm they had a hen, by the name of Ginger. Ginger feels
that there has to be more to life than laying eggs and ending up in a roasting pot some day. She longs
for the freedom of paradise. Ginger is constantly planning escapes from the stalag like compound. Will
the chickens make it to freedom of will they end up in Mrs. Tweedy's Chicken Pot Pies? What do you think?
Full of in-jokes and good hearted humor with a British twist, "Chicken Run" is visually exciting.
The simple story will keep children engrossed. There is enough quirky humor and movie in-jokes (The Great Escape, Stalag 17) to keep the adults happy.
The Disc
Great disc with lots of extras.
Picture Quality:10/10
This colorful claymation classic looks wonderful. The vivid colors used
to dazzle the eye are there in all their brilliance.
Nothing but Dreamwork's best on this disc.
Sound Quality:10/10
Not meaning to be sexist but (I'm going to be) anytime you get hundreds
of women (in this case hens) together there are bound to be overlapping
conversations. There are many background conversations and asides in this
movie. All come through with clarity. You won't miss one smart remark from
the peanut gallery.
Menu:10/10
Fun menu with funny extras. There is an interactive egg hunt hidden in the menu. Find the egg and click
on it for numerous film facts. There is a cool "panic button" for those who like goofy fun.
Extra Features:10/10
More for the adult film fans than small children. The read along is aimed at pre-schoolers. Mine enjoyed it.
