"Bear in the Big Blue House: A Bear for All Seasons" is another DVD release from the Jim Henson/Disney TV series "Bear in the Big Blue House." The children's series won several Daytime Emmy awards. As a parent, I like the balance between education and entertainment. "Bear in the Big Blue House" is not just a passive TV experience. The episodes call on the young viewers to use their mind as they enjoy the antics of the lovable characters.
"A Bear for All Seasons" includes three episodes, which focus on the change of seasons. Bear and his fellow forest critters teach the kids about the four seasons in "Summer Cooler," "Falling for Fall" and "All-Weather Bear." Each episode features the great Jim Henson characters and fine scripts. You have nothing to fear leaving the little ones in front of the TV with this DVD playing.
Great kid's entertainment. Great picture and sound. Not many extras but the price reflects the DVD's vanilla nature.
Picture Quality: 10/10
Rich, well-saturated colors. Sharp images. Excellent delineation of colors. No artifacts or pixilation.
Sound Quality: 10/10
The 2.0 soundtrack is great. The songs sound great, both in the feature and on the "Sing Along" extra. No loss of dialogue.

Extra Features: 6/10
The "Sing Along" songs are great. My 5-year-old usually doesn't care too much for sing alongs, but she enjoyed these. The songs are better than average for this type of DVD. There aren't any other extras unless you count the Sneak Peeks. I don't count them. The $14.98 price tag makes up for the lack of extras.
The Final Word:
Another great "Bear in the Big Blue House" DVD. This is one of the better TV series aimed at small children. You can't go wrong with this one!
