Now, I know you read my review (if you can call it that) of an outstanding film called UNBREAKABLE. Let me give you some more info about this strange little film… first off, chances are when you are watching it, you’ll be curious about what the hell is going on. You’ll be waiting for something to happen. I’ll tell you this, the film’s true impact won’t hit you until well after you walk out of that theater. I can almost promise you that. Like SIXTH SENSE, this film makes you scratch your head for awhile until you say to yourself, “ Hey, that’s what happened! That’s so awesome!” For lack of a better phrase.

More advice to you… give the film a chance. Don’t write it off until you’ve thought about it, about what went on. Compare it to any Superhero film you’ve scene, or any comic you’ve read. Listen to Sam Jackson’s character.

Some exciting news dropped onto my lap recently, something that makes this movie even BETTER! Bruce Willis had an online chat recently, and stated that UNBREAKABLE is the first of a planned trilogy!!!! Barring any setbacks due to Box Office take. But knowing that this film doesn’t end where it ends enhances the experience… knowing that the story is continued… knowing that the surprise ending will serve a much higher purpose.

The film builds with each moment, and may even seem slow at times to some people (not me), but don’t let that get you down. I hate it when people argue about how a movie “is too slow”… like we need some big event every ten minutes. Films are supposed to tell stories, plain and simple.

So go to this movie, enjoy it! Think about it! Go out to a restaurant with your friends afterward and discuss it! It’s not perfect, but it’s a gem. Originality is basically null and void in Hollywood, but sometimes we get a treat…

He adds, "I know that a lot of the actors are relieved. I want the actors to feel connected and really enjoy the experience. There were a lot of difficulties (in filming the original here last winter), but we really came out of it feeling like a family."

In answer to a question about if Singer would plan on filming in the Toronto area again for the second film, the directors says, "Yeah, I probably would. It was a really terrific experience (on the original). Great crew. People were very, very co-operative…The problems we had, had little to do with Toronto. It had to do with the compression of time. It was just horrifying, moving that quickly."

The three are eventually transported to a strange environment where they must establish a new set of rules to survive. Fontana will write the pilot script.

MORE X-MEN 2 TALK
Though he's currently participating in the development of Star Trek X, Patrick Stewart is also very aware of what's been going on with the X-Men sequel. While talking to E! Online (via SCIFI.COM), the actor spoke of director Bryan Singer's negotiations, saying that the film's contractually attached cast is "keeping fingers crossed that Bryan Singer's going to direct the sequel."

Of course, talk of a sequel has been going on for quite some time, as Stewart says, "We were talking about it the Monday morning after the first great weekend. We were stunned--and, of course, thrilled. We never allowed ourselves to dream of something so successful."

Regarding how soon the project could be up and rolling, Stewart notes the impending threats of the actors and writers strikes, saying, "We're all wondering what impact that will have. At the moment, there's not even a storyline. I would be very surprised to see any production in the next 12 months."

DIE HARD DIRECTOR SET FOR T3?
John McTeirnan (The Thomas Crown Affair, Die Hard) may get the directing gig for Terminator 3, and they appear to have been true...maybe. According to Variety columnist Michael Fleming, T3 producer Andy Vajna has been visiting the set of McTeirnan's Rollerball suggesting that something is up. Still, until McT signs on the dotted line, nothing is set in stone.

FEMALE “T3” CASTING?
Who is going to get the important role of the female Terminator in the developing Terminator 3 project? According to Popcorn, the latest rumblings suggest that Carrie Anne-Moss (The Matrix) is a frontrunner for the role.

RIDLEY SCOTT’S NEXT
Disney has picked up a pitch for a pirate film project called Captain Kidd with an eye towards Ridley Scott helming it.

According to Variety, the project will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer along with Scott Free, Ridley Scott's production banner. The script, which will be written by the men who made the pitch, Doug Cook and David Weisberg, will tell the story of the true-life pirate Captain William Kidd, who initially under the sanctions of the British government was allowed to attack French sailing vessels. Later, he ended up at odds with England resulting in his final fall.

MIB2 STARTING UP?
According to Variety columnist Michael Fleming, Columbia Pictures and Amblin Entertainment will do what was previously thought impossible: get the Men In Black 2 project up and rolling before the impending actor and writer strikes. The date that is being eyed is June 4.

This doesn't mean that they're going to ignore the strikes, which are likely to shut down production. Their plans are much like what will be done on The Matrix sequels. As previously reported, the strikes have been put into the production plan as a momentary break in the production. During the break, the production will shift its attention to the special effects side of the coming films.

As far as Men In Black 2 is concerned, the production will initially focus its shooting on New York City locations that will involve special effects later.

As far as the acting leads of the film, Fleming reports that by the June 4 start date, Will Smith should have wrapped his work on the Ali biopic and Tommy Lee Jones should be done on The Hunted. Barry Sonnenfeld will, once again, direct. That’s all she wrote for now folks. I’m off to watch some football and eat some turkey! First Thanksgiving as a married man, and first Thanksgiving away from family… so I better get off of the computerJ.

REMEMBER to check the archives to make sure you didn’t miss the last post which was posted two days ago, it’s a big one! ALWAYS check archives now so you don’t miss anything… I’m going to get at least three or four scoops per week now.

Other than that, have a GREAT holiday season! Go see UNBREAKABLE so it gets a huge opening, which means the trilogy will be set in stone!
