Interview conducted earlier this year.
by Jonathan W. Hickman

On the set of The Great Raid.

American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands victims left homeless with critical necessities. By making a financial gift to Hurricane 2005 Relief, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.

"The Great Raid" marks a new chapter in the career of Director John Dahl. Having become notable for directing entertaining thrillers like 1994's steamy "The Last Seduction," Dahl might be the last director to come to mind when thinking about bringing a World War II story to the screen. But "The Great Raid," a throwback war epic, is Dahl's latest feature marking his largest budget to date (a great looking $70 million production).

John Dahl joined us in the lobby of an Atlanta hotel to talk about his moving tribute to what very well might be the most daring rescue mission ever accomplished. We worked on the audio as best we could so please stay with it because Mr. Dahl offers much insight into how he recreated "The Great Raid."
