Christopher Nolan took the film world by storm with last year's "Memento," a wicked twist on the noir thriller, so beautifully crafted that few films have ever matched its pure impact. That film sat atop a good many top ten lists (including ours), while Nolan went on to receive AFI's "Screenwriter of the Year" Award and an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay. Not a bad second outing for a filmmaker whose first film ("Following") was financed entirely from personal credit cards, and shot on weekends when he wasn't at work.
