Lifetime's DROP DEAD DIVA is Pleasant Surprise!

Not in an official capacity I’ve ventured onto the set of DROP DEAD DIVA. The LA set show is actually being shot in Peachtree City, Georgia, and in my home town of Senoia, Georgia. The cameras and trailers have been hard to miss along the streets of the little town of Senoia, the place where movies are being shot with regularity. Ashton Kutcher is even filming a movie there.

TRUE BLOOD Episode 16: Bloody Good Fun!

TRUE BLOOD evolves as this week’s episode extends the conspiracy and productively builds on the growing cast of supernaturals. Caught in the middle is the naive Tara who falls prey to Maryann’s wicked party girl comely vibes. A whole lot of shakin’ concludes this provocative episode, and Jessica might just take in a little O-positive man blood in the process.

Less a television series than a highly addictive drug, HBO's deliriously entertaining "Entourage" kicks off its sixth season on Sunday, July 12 (10:30 PM).  With its energy, flash, humor and fast-paced storytelling, "Entourage" is entertainment even the most challenged members of the short-attention span generation should find satisfying.  Each 30-minute episode always seems to fly by in half the time, and season six is shaping up the same way.

The Quality of Being Well HUNG! HBO gets kinda naughty...

“What if he has a big penis, and we’ll call it HUNG,” television writer Colette Burson was talking about her new HBO series. They did, indeed, call the show the provocative HUNG. And the name alone will likely attract viewers.

On Thursday, June 25, the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival quickly became Westwood Village's second biggest item when news spread that Michael Jackson passed away at UCLA Medical Center.

TRUE BLOOD: Preview of Sunday night's episode! Scratches!

Maryann is a witch! Surely viewers have figured this out already, but in episode 15 of HBO’s “True Blood” she becomes more witchy than ever. And Merlotte’s bar owner Sam might want to call Maryann worse things than witch.

Sookie Stackhouse is the type of gal who can read people almost as well as she can read minds.  Maybe there’s no difference, call it woman’s intuition.  In episode 14 of HBO’s TRUE BLOOD, Sookie has to deal with another woman in the life of her pale faced lover, civil war era vampire Bill.  And her ability to read people gets the ultimate test.  Lives will be on the line!

Returning after a successful 12 episode run, HBO’s “True Blood” is back on Sunday, June 14, 2009. In this first of four “Blood” stories I’ll write for EI, I have been fortunate enough to see, prior to its premiere, the hour long episode 13, subtitled “Nothing But the Blood.”

The first season ended with a fang, and this second season is no different. Although the vampire action and intrigue is ever-present, I was surprised by the effectiveness of the romance between Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Theirs is a complex love affair, to be sure, but one that has unique pathos.

Film Fix TV Show: More video coverage from this year's Sundance Film Festival

thefilmfixThe Film Fix has been picked up by a couple of cable stations in the metro Atlanta, Georgia, area. Below is an example of the second show that’s running on the air now. I’m tweaking the format, trying to do something that isn’t the garden variety interview show. I’d love to hear from EI readers with suggestions.
