SyFy Channel Original Movie Premiere of THE PHANTOM
Does anyone remember “The Phantom” movie of 1996? All that stands out in my mind is Billy Zane with a bald head and a cheesy “Phantom” suit. Oh yes, and Catherine Zeta Jones was the villain. Therefore it was with great trepidation I sat down to watch “The Phantom” from the Syfy channel which is a four hour “Phantom” adventure. Thankfully Syfy has made some much needed changes.

TNT's “Leverage” Premiere
“Leverage” is back for the summer on TNT but now it is seen on Sunday nights at 9. The kickoff comes on June20 when there will be back to back new episodes of this exciting show. All of the cast is returning and that means Gina Bellman is back full time as Sophie Devereaux. Bellman had been seen sporadically last season due to her pregnancy. Now she is back full time and that means the show will be all that much better.

The popular drama about a Chief of Nursing drew a lot of fans when it debuted last year and the audience this year should be even bigger. The stories that take place in the hospital are compelling as are the personal stories of the staff.

Chalk up another winner for TNT. Jason Lee of “My Name Is Earl“ fame comes back with a new series “Memphis Beat” in which he plays a Memphis cop. Not only is Lee great in the lead role but he surrounds himself with an abundance of super talented supporting actors.

TRUE BLOOD Season 3 Premiere
Season three of HBO’s hit series “True Blood” is off and running and it is going to be quite a year. The show jumped into full plot mode with the opening episode. We immediately found Sookie (Anna Paquin) searching for the missing Bill (Stephen Moyer). She had almost agreed to marry him but he disappeared before she could give him an answer.

Tonight on Syfy - The premiere of GHOST HUNTERS ACADEMY
The ghost busting business is getting to be such a big field that new recruits are constantly needed. Therefore the “Syfy Channel” came up with a new show to feed talented people into its other shows such as “Ghost Hunters” and “Ghost Hunters International.” The new show is called “Ghost Hunters Academy” and it takes in eight new applicants and puts them through the tests to see who should be added to the “Ghost Hunter” teams.

One of Lifetime’s most talked about new series last year was “Drop Dead Diva.” This show concerned a glamorous model who died and instead of going to Heaven ended up in the body of a plus sized attorney named Jane. Now Deb, the model, has to learn to live Jane’s life and make the best of it. Oh, and part of Jane’s spirit still lingers to influence Deb in various areas. It’s complicated!
