GET READY FOR ANOTHER "VACATION" WITH THE GRISWOLDS

GET READY FOR ANOTHER

Clark and Ellen Griswold are coming back for another wacky adventure!  One of my all-time favorite comedies will be getting a sequel.  "Vacation" featured Chevy Chase as the dim-witted dad and Beverly Di'Angelo as the tag along frustrated wife as they took their family cross-country to Wally World theme park...only to find it was closed!  The adventure along the way sparked so many lines that I could rattle off the top of my head they became classics.

Instead of a reboot (thank God) it will be an actually sequel as Chase and Di'Angelo play the grandparents that watch thier son, Rusty, take his family on a vacation journey of his own.

The project came about from New Line Cinema getting taken over by Warner Brothers.  Which is news I hadn't heard about yet until reading for this scoop.  However, when studio execs at WB were pouring over titles owned by New Line they came across "Vacation" and it was a no brainer.

Dave Dobkin will produce and possibly direct.  It is not known yet who is going to play what and it isn't even known if Chevy Chase and Beverly Di'Angelo are coming back.  Of course, how COULD you have this sequel without them?  Really.  Other actors on the short list are Vince Vaughn, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Jason Segel.

Dobkin was also reported to want the film to be more like "Little Miss Sunshine" than anything else.  Hmmm....not sure that's going to work here.  But either way, I can't wait to see what they do on this.
